Anyone who has struggled to pay their Social Security tax knows that it is neither a Ponzi scheme nor a joke. It is a contract with each citizen who contributes to it. Musk, who obviously knows nothing about it and is the richest man in the world (thanks to American taxpayers contributing to his $38 billion government contracts), doesn’t really need to worry. But Social Security is also a red herring. What Musk is really after is transforming America into a totalitarian state overseen by a techno-elite oligarchy. Instead of fueling a cult of personality-driven dictatorship in the style of Hitler, Stalin, or Donald Trump, Musk wants to run the country with computer algorithms and an as-yet-only partially developed artificial intelligence. Once Musk eliminates the civil service, which really does understand what is going on, Musk will leave it to computer programs—which he and his merry band of billionaire supporters are uniquely positioned to tweak to ensure their increased profits. Musk destroyed Twitter, and then he destroyed Tesla. Now, he is destroying the US Government. Trump, who is sounding increasingly gaga and was not that smart to start with, is happy to retreat to Mar a Lago and let the country go to hell. The question is, who is going to stop them—-or is this just another example of a government collapsing because no one knew what to do about a few misdirected men?

The Washington Post is reporting the Musk has already delivered a likely $500 billion cut in tax collections by firing IRS employees. Wealthy tax cheats will no doubt be the primary beneficiaries. Another story that deserves wider publicity. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/03/22/irs-tax-revenue-loss-federal-budget/
